French Bride Poupee ROHMERRARE FRENCH BISQUE POUPEE BY ROHMER, WITH SWIVEL NECK & GLASS EYES

Marks: None. 16”. Pale bisque swivel head with flat-cut neck socket on bisque shoulderplate, plump facial features, neck articulation allowing 90 degree swivel, inset almond-shaped cobalt blue glass eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, multi-feathered brows, closed mouth with pale pink accented lips, original cork pate and blonde mohair wig, kid poupee body without gusset joints, separately-stitched fingers, cream silk taffeta bridal gown, antique stockings and leather boots. Commentary: Circa 1860 poupee with palest fine bisque, wonderful facial expression and deeply-modelled features, dramatic almond eyes, sturdy kid, inherent faint firing mark corner of right eye.
